In this blog I want to give you a sense of the
varieties of experiences that people with MPD/DID can have so I have included
quite a few quotes from different sources as well as some examples of my own
experience. Just as people are different and unique, so is each person with
multiple personalities. Each person organizes their system of alters in
different ways that make sense to them. No two people with MPD/DID are exactly
alike. However, it is quite amazing the number of similarities among people
with the disorder given that the beginning of it started with a very young
child. There are no rule books for those who create alternate personalities to
survive severe trauma. Children just seem to have a sense of what to do. It’s a
tribute to the human mind and to the creativity used.
This blog is about multiple personality, now called Dissociative Identity Disorder. I have the condition and have done extensive research on the subject. I also have known many people with the disorder. I have included information on TRAUMA and DISSOCIATION, as well as on MEMORY. I have also included information about the different types of PERSONALITIES and about the HEALING PROCESS. I hope you find this site helpful.
